Operations

Where demining is needed, machines such as the DIGGER D-250 can complement manual demining very effectively.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to the diversity of mined terrains. Agricultural areas, villages, roads, critical infrastructure, or collapsed buildings all require specific, tailored approaches. Humanitarian demining thus relies on a custom approach, combining several complementary methods — manual demining, specialized machines, and detection dogs — depending on the realities of the terrain.

Machines like our DIGGER D-250 can clear between 300 and 1800 square meters per hour, depending on the case. Where they can be deployed, in addition to the increased safety they provide for the deminers who follow, they have the potential to drastically reduce the cost per square meter cleared. This allows a much larger area to be cleared with the same investment!

In over 25 years of activity, we have not reported any accidents, in a context where danger is always present and very real. The machines of Fondation Digger have been active in sixteen countries: Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Thus, millions of square meters have been cleared, relieving thousands of people from the oppression of landmines.
