Initially planned for Albania, the D-1 was finally dispatched to Kosovo after a change at the last-minute. The machine suffered from a lot of teething troubles, which our technicians had to sort out, partly at the Swiss customs and partly on site. The machine worked in the end but its operation was short-lived. For the fledgling Digger organisation, this operation was more about testing the prototype and a foretaste of field operations to come than a real demining project.
